👩🏿‍🏫 Education Advocate

👩🏿‍🏫 Education Advocate

As a daughter of two amazing teachers, I have always respected education. I have watched my parents transformed so many students in-and-out the classrooms, and I too have been shaped to be the person I am today for the amazing educators I have had in my life. My interest in Edtech sparked from the love and respect I have cultivated into a pursuit. This is my way of saying thank you to my parents, and all the educators out there.

🧮 Untraditional Mathematician

Halfway through my undergraduate degree, I realized I didn't want to go the conventional way of math. Math to me is the way I visualize patterns and only one way to solve problems. In my experience being a Black female mathematician, I didn’t always come across people with a similar background. I continue to push for inclusive initiatives and the opportunity that there can be more women like me in this field.

I enjoy designing! Whether that be for the purpose of problem-solving, creativity, or to uplift and share many voices, especially those that are marginalized. I have done this by including voices of black users into design concepts, and creating a social media campaign sharing stories from first-generation Americans; I believe diversity in design is how we can bring change.

Photography was the second or third form of storytelling I developed. To this day it amazes me that a small device can freeze a moment, and you can embellish or even tell a true story based on one frame. I enjoy taking photos in my free time and working as a freelance photographer.

Starting my own magazine company for me was by far the longest dream I've held on to. I enjoy every aspect of putting a publication together from start to finish. I’m a sucker for editorials! I enjoy making editorial designs, whether that be to attract new readers, or shed a light on people’s experiences.
